Description
Bioactive hyaluronidase enzyme.
Hyaluronidases intracellularly degrade hyaluronan (also known as hyaluronic acid, or HA), one of the major glycosaminoglycans of the extracellular matrix. Hyaluronan is thought to be involved in cell proliferation, migration and differentiation. Hyaluronidase-1 may have a role in promoting tumor progression and may block the TGFB1-enhanced cell growth.
Reaction Catalyzed
Random hydrolysis of (1->4)-linkages between N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosamine and D-glucuronate residues in hyaluronate. Also hydrolyses (1→4)-β-D-glycosidic linkages between N-acetyl-galactosamine or N-acetylgalactosamine sulfate and glucuronic acid in chondroitin, chondroitin 4- and 6-sulfates, and dermatan.
Other Names
Hyaluronidase-1, EC 3.2.1.35, Hyal-1, HYAL1, Hyaluronoglucosaminidase-1, Lung carcinoma protein 1, LUCA-1.
Source
Purified from Bovine testes.
CAS Registry No.
37326-33-3
Physical Appearance
Sterile filtered white lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation
The enzyme was lyophilized in 1xPBS and 2% sucrose.
Reconstitution
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Hyaluronidase in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Specific Activity
300 IU/mg.
Shipping
At ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store the product at the temperature recommended below.
Storage/Expiration
Lyophilized Hyaluronidase, although although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution, Hyaluronidase should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
