Serum replacement

The use of animal or human serum products in cell culture introduces unwanted batch variability, inconsistent performance, and possibly pathogenic contaminants.

Fully defined serum substitutes allow for a more defined and reproducible cell culture, with greater control over performance characteristics. Eliminating the need to screen serum for infectious agents helps to reduce laboratory burdens and eases regulatory issues. Further, serum substitutes have the ethical benefit of reducing our use of animal products.

Panexin from PAN-Biotech:

Panexin products are fully defined serum replacements developed and manufactured by PAN-Biotech in Germany. They can be used for the cultivation of adherent and non-adherent cells under serum-free or serum-reduced conditions. For more demanding cell lines we also offer Panexin NTA (adherent cells) and Panexin NTS (suspension cells).
