Description
Recombinant Human Insulin Powder for cell culture applications.
Recombinant Human Insulin is a two chain, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain that contains 51 amino acids and has a molecular mass of ~5808 Dalton. The protein is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques
Summary
Insulin is a peptide hormone produced by beta cells of the pancreatic islets encoded in humans by the INS gene. Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver (UniProtKb_P01308). Recombinant Human Insulin is a commonly used media supplement in mammalian cell culture.
