Introduction

PAN-Biotech Amphotericin B (250 µg/ml) is a generic version of Fungizone that is used in cell culture applications. Amphotericin B is an antifungal agent produced by Streptomyces sp.. Amphotericin B increases fungal plasma membrane permeability by binding to sterols, thereby protecting cell cultures from contamination by yeast and multicellular fungi.

Application

Amphotericin B is often used as an antifungal, anti-yeast and anti-mold agent to prevent fungal contamination of cell cultures. The commonly recommended working concentration ranges from 0.25-2.5 μg/mL (1-10 mL/L).
