Introduction
Neuropan Basal Medium is formulated to meet special requirements of neuronal cells. When supplemented with Neuropan-27 Supplement or Neuropan-2 Supplement, it allows long-term maintenance of the normal phenotype and growth of neuronal cells, and maintains pure populations of neuronal cells without the need for an astrocyte feeder.
Application
Neuropan Basal Medium meets the special cell culture requirements of prenatal and embryonic neuronal cells from hippocampus, cortex, and other regions of the brain. It allows for both long and short term maintenance of homogenous populations of neuronal cells without the need of an astrocyte feeder layer. For research use only; not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Advantages
Supplemented Neuropan Basal Medium allows the cultivation of neuronal cells under serum-free conditions. When supplemented with Neuropan-27 Supplement or Neuropan-2 Supplement, Neuropan contains all the growth factors and supplements necessary for the optimal growth of fetal hippocampal neurons and many other neurons of the Central Nervous System (CNS) and Peripheral Nervous System (PNS).
