Introduction
Williams and Gunn originally developed William's E Medium as a reduced serum-supplemented medium for long-term cell cultures of adult rat liver epithelial cells. William's E Medium may also be used for the cultivation of primary hepatocyte cells of other species as well as human-derived HepaRG cells. The medium is unique in that it contains zinc, iron, manganese, non-essential amino acids, the reducing agent glutathione, and the lipid methyl linoleate.
