Introduction
2-Mercaptoethanol, also known as beta-mercaptoethanol (BME), is a potent reducing agent used in cell culture medium to prevent toxic levels of oxygen radicals. 2-Mercaptoethanol is not stable in solution, thus protocols generally require daily supplementation. PAN-Biotech 2-Mercaptoethanol is supplied at a concentration of 50 mM in Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline (DPBS).
